On August 16, 1974, New York City’s punk music scene took form as Queens-born band Ramones played their first show at CBGB. Soon after, hits like “Rockaway Beach” and “Blitzkreig Bop” brought these Forest Hills-born rockers to the mainstream, and the rest– as they say– is history.
To celebrate this 50-year milestone of New York Punk, Rhino Entertainment & Warner Music Group are partnering with NYC Ferry for a series of onboard advertisements to promote Spotify’s This Is Ramones Playlist, plus 3 Ramones-themed ferry rides to Rockaway Beach!
Hop on board NYC Ferry’s Rockaway Route on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17 for 3 specially-curated Ramones-themed commutes, featuring:
🎶 An exclusive ‘50 Years of Ramones’ sticker for riders (while supplies last) + Ramones takeover on our digital screens on board
🎶 “Rockaway Beach” played at the top of the ride as the vessel leaves Wall St./Pier 11
🎶 Free samples of locally-owned Rockaway Soda (@rockawaysoda)
🎶 Raffle for an exclusive Ramones prize pack from Rhino (@rhino_entertainment)
PLUS, while you’re out in Rockaway, be sure to stop by Rockaway Beach Bakery for limited edition ‘Ra-scones’ and ‘Now I Wanna Sip Some (Cold) Brew’ 🥤 (Take the Rockaway Shuttle Bus East to Rockaway Beach Blvd / B 86th Street).
